– You will be required to perform duties at the offices of Magic Square UK Tech Limited in Midlands, UK and also at any of the projects undertaken by Magic Square UK Tech Limited at their various client sites(for this role, in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, UK). – You will be reporting to your line manager in MGS for all your tasks/projects mentioned above delivering your projects at their various client sites.Salary Package or range:
• £25,000 – £30,000 per annum with benefitsJob Role, Duties & Responsibilities:
-Responsible for administration of Application servers such as BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere and other webservers such as Sunone, Microsoft IIS, Apache and other middle ware tools such as MQ Series, Tuxedo on Unix and windows based platforms.
-Maintaining the existing environments and creating new ones as need arises, troubleshooting if server is down, deploying new applications onto the servers to make them available to the public and troubleshooting if there are deployment issues of any kind.
-Will also be required to maintain a healthy and growing relationship with our clients providing them with high-quality customer service and timely deliverance of products.
-Employee will be responsible for working with infrastructure engineering teams, new application development components and on-going content development on our portals / suite of web services.
-Will be responsible for the system design and programming of individual modules within a project.
-The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with clients to discuss problems in their supported applications using their domain terminology and then own issues until conclusion. This will involve conducting technical investigations, providing patches or workarounds, escalating calls and liaising with product specialists, preparing replies to clients in a form they can understand and updating the support toolset / support procedures.
-Support Customer Production sites to enable FTT (First Time Through)Minimum Skills, Qualifications, Experience & Personal attributes required:
-University degree (or equivalent qualification) in engineering, physical sciences or mathematics.
-Minimum 3 years of experience in Software/IT Support Services and IT project upgrades.
-Experience in Installation, Configuration, Clustering, Troubleshooting, Performance tuning, Deploying applications, Load balancing and Maintenance of WebLogic Server 10.x.
-Configuring Web Logic Plug-ins for Apache Web Server and configured load balancing and fail-over solutions.
-Monitoring and managing JVM performance by adjusting WebLogic heap size and garbage collection parameter.
-Monitoring WebLogic server health and security.
-Analysing results from Thread Dump analysis, Core Dump analysis and Memory Leaks during uneven server crashes.
-Administration/Deployment of Oracle WebLogic 10.x, Apache Web server 2.x, Sun on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0
-Configuring WebLogic application server to JDBC data source, JMS connection factory, Topic/Queue.
-Deployment and troubleshooting of JAR, WAR, and EAR advanced version of client’s in-house application in domain and clustered environments.
-Creating new environments (domains) on WebLogic Application server for testing and development purpose.
-Writing SHELL, WLST scripts for automation and monitoring purposes.
-Installing WebLogic server instances on RHEL 5.0 when needed.
-Submitting weekly reports to the project manager and assisting the clients in case the client’s in-house application doesn’t work.
-Competence of Microsoft applications, Excel / Power-point.
-Numerate & Literate.
